Meet Jennell

Greetings, my name is Jennell, and I am delighted that you have discovered my page. I am the founder and proprietor of On The Fly. Throughout my entire career, I have been driven by an unwavering dedication to aiding individuals, particularly children, and their families. There is simply nothing that brings me greater joy than assisting children in attaining significant motor milestones, fostering their independence, and helping them reach their fullest potential. Having witnessed the challenges that numerous families encounter when seeking intensive therapy away from home, I have made it my mission to ensure that intensive therapy is more easily accessible. This determination stemmed from my extensive experience in a clinical environment, prompting me to take action.

I attended the University of Wyoming where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in professional child development. After graduation I moved to Los Angeles and attended the University of Southern California where I earned my Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy with an emphasis in pediatrics. Following graduation, I worked in early intervention and then transitioned to outpatient rehab when I found the world-renowned NAPA Center! I worked at NAPA center (Los Angeles and Sydney Australia) clinics off and on for about 9 years.

Throughout my career, I have actively pursued various educational opportunities to elevate my expertise. I have acquired advanced training and certifications in Physical Agent Modalities (PAMS), neuromuscular electrical stimulation, CME level II, Practical Treatment of Torticollis, ABCs of Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing in Premature Infants, Sensory Integration Certification, ILs (Integrative Listening Systems), and Gate Analysis and Training. My passion for continuous learning drives me to explore novel treatment approaches, therapy techniques, and cutting-edge modalities. By staying abreast of the latest developments, I strive to ensure optimal outcomes for my patients while serving as a valuable asset to their families.

I have worked in pediatrics for over 14 years and have 11 years experience with intensive therapy.  I was originally trained in MEDEK in 2016. I saw such amazing outcomes with MEDEK combined with the intensive model of therapy, however; felt constrained by the restrictions of MEDEK practice regulations. When DMI was presented, I decided to make the switch in order to incorporate other modalities into my practice. I have completed all of my DMI courses and am now an intermediate level B practitioner as well as a DMI instructor. When I’m not traveling for intensives, I am teaching virtual and in person DMI courses and playing with my dog Lucky.

Meet Kendra

Kendra was raised in a small Wisconsin town, where she witnessed the hardships families faced to find quality therapy as her family searched for options for her younger brother. She knew when she grew up that she wanted to work to make pediatric therapy more available to kids everywhere.

She completed her Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where she became active with the adaptive fitness community. She loved the community so much that she stayed an extra three years and received her Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. While completing her degree, Kendra felt a strong passion to pursue pediatrics and as she began her career, she discovered how much joy she finds in helping children discover their natural wonder and reach their highest potential.

Kendra is currently based out of Madison, WI, and has been with On The Fly DMI for over a year, reaching a wider range of families and children. Kendra is DMI Intermediate A certified and is looking forward to completing her intermediate B coursework in this spring. Intermediate B is the highest level of DMI certifcation.. She also has training in Constraint Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT), SOS feeding therapy, Judy Carmick’s Task Specific Electrical Stimulation (TASES) and primitive reflex integration. Adding DMI to her skill set has allowed her to witness her kids unlock their potential and to thrive in both their skills and their confidence.

When Kendra is not at work, you can find her spending her time adventuring outside with her friends and family and completing races of all sorts with her younger brother in tow! Kendra is so excited to join the On the Fly DMI team and is looking forward to meeting you all!

Neva earned her Bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology with a minor in Biology from Shippensburg University and went on to complete her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy at Salus University. After graduation, she worked in early intervention (EI) in Philadelphia for three years before accepting a position as Lead Occupational Therapist at an early intervention agency in Oakland, California, where she worked for five years.

In addition to her experience in EI, Neva has worked in a variety of settings, including specialized schools, hospital-based pediatric outpatient clinics, sensory clinics, and community-based preschools. She is passionate about helping children reach their fullest potential and has specialized training in DIR Floortime Level 202 and CIMI Infant Massage. Most notably, she is DMI Level C certified, having completed in-person training under both founders of the method. Neva continues to expand her expertise through advanced coursework, including applying for Intermediate A certification and planning to take the Task-Specific Electrical Stimulation (TASES) course to remain at the forefront of pediatric therapy techniques.

Outside of work, Neva enjoys spending time in nature hiking, reading at local cafés, attending yoga classes, bouldering at the climbing gym, photographing her cat, and sampling sweet treats from the newest bakeries in town. Meet Sandi

Hi, I'm Sandi and I'm the face behind all the admin emails, intensive therapy coordination and therapist travel plans.

I grew up in Sacramento and went to school in LA. Soon after graduation, I moved to Wisconsin for a job in higher education and grad school and have lived here ever since.

In 2019, my son AJ and I traveled to his first intensive therapy session across the country. By the end of week one we knew that this would be a regular occurrence for our family. Fun fact: Jennell was AJ's very first therapy session at his very first intensive and we have remained close ever since.

In March of 2020, my family and I made the decision for me to leave my corporate training and development job to become a full-time CP mom. Fast forward to many outpatient therapy sessions, intensive therapy travels, surgeries and so much more I don't need to explain to any caregiver in our community.

When AJ started school, part time, I found myself with some extra time. My heart felt drawn to work with the disability community in some way. In early 2023, the universe aligned and Jennell was in need of help with On The Fly. I was ready and willing to help!

This job brings me joy knowing that I am enabling our therapists to focus on what matters most...our kids. I love when I am able to empathize with other families and help them along their journey. I am so lucky that I get to work with fabulous therapists and wonderful families!

In my free time I love to bake (I love to make edible cookie dough for all our therapists during intensives!), ride bikes, long walks, watch sports with AJ, and won't ever pass up the opportunity to enjoy the Backstreet Boys.

I look forward to working with you!
